MY ANGEL WILL BRING YOU INTO THE LAND
I WILL WIPE OUT THE AMORITES,
THE HITTITES, THE PERIZZITES,
THE CANAANITES, THE HIVITES,
AND THE JEBUSITES
“See, I am sending an angel ahead of you
to guard you along the way
and to bring you to the place I have prepared.
Pay attention to him and
listen to what he says.
Do not rebel against him;
he will not forgive your rebellion,
since my Name is in him.
If you listen carefully to what he says
and do all that I say,
I will be an enemy to your enemies
and will oppose those who oppose you.
My angel will go ahead of you
and bring you into the land
of the Amorites, Hittites, Perizzites,
Canaanites, Hivites and Jebusites,
and I will wipe them out.
Exodus 23:20-23

NATIONS DRIVEN OUT OF THE LAND
The Lord will drive out
all these nations before you,
and you will dispossess nations
larger and stronger than you.
Deuteronomy 11:23

ISRAEL'S TERRITORY WILL EXTEND
FROM THE EUPHRATES RIVER
TO THE MEDITERRANEAN SEA
Every place where you set your foot
will be yours:
Your territory will extend
from the desert to Lebanon,
and from the Euphrates River
to the Mediterranean Sea.
No one will be able to stand against you.
The Lord your God, as he promised you,
will put the terror and fear of you
on the whole land, wherever you go.
Deuteronomy 11:24-25

ENTER AND TAKE POSSESSION
OF THE LAND
You are about to cross the Jordan
to enter and take possession of the land
the Lord your God is giving you.
Deuteronomy 11:31

FROM MISERY IN EGYPT
TO A LAND FLOWING
WITH MILK AND HONEY
“Go, assemble the elders of Israel
and say to them,
‘The Lord, the God of your fathers—
the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob—
appeared to me and said:
I have watched over you
and have seen what has been done to you in Egypt.
And I have promised to bring you up
out of your misery in Egypt
into the land of the Canaanites,
Hittites, Amorites, Perizzites,
Hivites and Jebusites—
a land flowing with milk and honey.’
Exodus 3:16-17

EVERY NATION THROWN INTO CONFUSION
ALL YOUR ENEMIES WILL TURN AND RUN
“I will send my terror ahead of you
and throw into confusion
every nation you encounter.
I will make all your enemies
turn their backs and run.
I will send the hornet ahead of you
to drive the Hivites,
Canaanites and Hittites
out of your way.
Exodus 23:27-28

GO UP TO THE LAND
MY ANGEL WILL DRIVE OUT
THE NATIONS
Then the Lord said to Moses,
“Leave this place, you and the people
you brought up out of Egypt,
and go up to the land I promised on oath
to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, saying,
‘I will give it to your descendants.’
I will send an angel before you
and drive out the Canaanites,
Amorites, Hittites, Perizzites,
Hivites and Jebusites.
Exodus 33:1-2

TAKE POSSESSION OF THE LAND
AS FAR AS THE GREAT RIVER,
THE EUPHRATES
Break camp and advance
into the hill country of the Amorites;
go to all the neighboring peoples
in the Arabah, in the mountains,
in the western foothills,
in the Negev and along the coast,
to the land of the Canaanites
and to Lebanon,
as far as the great river, the Euphrates.
See, I have given you this land.
Go in and take possession of the land
the Lord swore he would give to your fathers—
to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob—
and to their descendants after them.”
Deuteronomy 1:7-8

DISPOSSESSION OF THE NATIONS
NATIONS GREATER AND STRONGER
YOU WILL ANNIHILATE THEM QUICKLY
Hear, O Israel:
You are now about to cross the Jordan
to go in and dispossess nations
greater and stronger than you,
with large cities that have walls up to the sky.
The people are strong and tall—Anakites!
You know about them
and have heard it said:
“Who can stand up against the Anakites?”
But be assured today
that the Lord your God is the one
who goes across ahead of you
like a devouring fire.
He will destroy them;
he will subdue them before you.
And you will drive them out
and annihilate them quickly,
as the Lord has promised you.
Deuteronomy 9:1-3

DISPOSSESSING THE NATIONS
WIPE OUT THEIR NAMES
Destroy completely all the places
on the high mountains,
on the hills and under every spreading tree,

worship their gods.
Break down their altars,
smash their sacred stones
and burn their Asherah poles in the fire;
cut down the idols of their gods
and wipe out their names from those places.
Deuteronomy 12:2-3

ISRAEL ABOUT TO INVADE AND DISPOSSESS
THE NATIONS DRIVEN OUT
ISRAEL SETTLED IN THE LAND
The Lord your God
will cut off before you the nations
you are about to invade and dispossess.
But when you have driven them out
and settled in their land,
and after they have been destroyed before you,
be careful not to be ensnared
by inquiring about their gods, saying,
“How do these nations serve their gods?
We will do the same.”
Deuteronomy 12:29-30

MANY NATIONS, MIGHTY KINGS
GOD GAVE THEIR LAND
AN INHERITANCE TO ISRAEL, HIS PEOPLE
He struck down many nations
  and killed mighty kings—
Sihon king of the Amorites,
  Og king of Bashan,
and all the kings of Canaan—
and he gave their land as an inheritance,
an inheritance to his people Israel.
Psalm 135:10-12

YOUR DESCENDANTS
WILL DISPOSSESS NATIONS
For you will spread out
to the right and to the left;
  your descendants will dispossess nations
and settle in their desolate cities.

ALL THE LAND THAT YOU SEE
I WILL GIVE TO YOU
AND YOUR OFFSPRING FOREVER
The Lord said to Abram
after Lot had parted from him,
“Look around from where you are,
to the north and south,
to the east and west. 1
All the land that you see
I will give to you and your offspring forever.
I will make your offspring
like the dust of the earth,
so that if anyone could count the dust,
then your offspring could be counted.
Genesis 13:14-16

ALL THIS LAND
WILL BE THEIR INHERITANCE FOREVER
Remember your servants
Abraham, Isaac and Israel,
to whom you swore by your own self:
‘I will make your descendants
as numerous as the stars in the sky
and I will give your descendants
all this land I promised them,
and it will be their inheritance forever.’”
Exodus 32:13

THE GOD OF ISRAEL SPEAKS TO JOSHUA
THE LAND GIVEN AS AN INHERITANCE
EVEN UNTO THE GREAT RIVER, THE EUPHRATES
Every place that the sole of your foot
shall tread upon,
that have I given unto you,
as I said unto Moses.
From the wilderness and this Lebanon
even unto the great river, the river Euphrates,
all the land of the Hittites,
and unto the great sea
toward the going down of the sun,
shall be your coast.
There shall not any man be able
to stand before thee
all the days of thy life:
as I was with Moses,
so I will be with thee:
I will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.
Be strong and of a good courage:
for unto this people
shalt thou divide for an inheritance
the land,
which I sware unto their fathers
to give them.
Joshua 1:3-6

THE LAND WILL BE YOUR INHERITANCE

'The land on which your feet have walked
will be your inheritance
and that of your children forever,
because you have followed
the Lord my God wholeheartedly'
Joshua 14:9

GOD ESTABLISHES

keep forever the promise
you have made concerning your servant

2Samuel 22:50-51

ON DAVID AND HIS DESCENDANTS
THE LORD'S PEACE, FOREVER
The Lord will repay him for the blood he shed,
because without my father David knowing it
he attacked two men
and killed them with the sword.
Both of them—Abner son of Ner,
commander of Israel’s army,
and Amasa son of Jether,
commander of Judah’s army—
were better men and more upright than he.
May the guilt of their blood
rest on the head of Joab

But on David and his descendants,
his house and his throne,
may there be the Lord’s peace forever.”

he chose my family,
and from my father’s sons
he was pleased to make me king

to sit on the throne
of the kingdom of the Lord
over Israel.

in carrying out my commands and laws,

that you may possess this good land
and pass it on as an inheritance

ISRAELI KING DAVID
HIS PRAYER FOR THE PEOPLE O ISRAEL
THE PATRIARCHS OF ISRAEL
ABRAHAM, ISAAC, AND ISRAEL
I know, my God,
that you test the heart
and are pleased with integrity.
All these things I have given willingly
and with honest intent.
And now I have seen with joy
how willingly your people who are here
have given to you.
Lord, the God of our fathers
Abraham, Isaac and Israel,
keep these desires and thoughts
in the hearts of your people forever,
and keep their hearts loyal to you.

THE TEMPLE OF GOD IN JERUSALEM
THE GLORY OF THE LORD FILLS THE TEMPLE
A CLOUD FILLS THE TEMPLE

The trumpeters and musicians joined in unison
to give praise and thanks to the Lord.
Accompanied by trumpets,
cymbals and other instruments,
the singers raised their voices
in praise to the Lord and sang:
“He is good; his love endures forever.”
Then the temple of the Lord

was filled with the cloud,
and the priests could not perform their service
because of the cloud,
for the glory of the Lord
filled the temple of God.

ABOVE THE TEMPLE
FIRE COMING DOWN

the temple of the Lord
because the glory of the Lord filled it.

and the glory of the Lord above the temple,
they knelt on the pavement
with their faces to the ground,
and they worshiped
and gave thanks to the Lord, saying,
“He is good; his love endures forever.”
2Chronicles 7:2-3

ISRAELI KING DAVID
THE JEWISH PRIESTS AND LEVITES
IN THE TEMPLE OF GOD
IN JERUSALEM
The priests took their positions,
as did the Levites
with the Lord’s musical instruments,
which King David had made
for praising the Lord
and which were used when he gave thanks, saying,
“His love endures forever.”
Opposite the Levites,
the priests blew their trumpets,
and all the Israelites were standing.

GOD'S CHOSEN AND CONSECRATED TEMPLE
GOD IN THE JEWISH TEMPLE, FOREVER
If my people, who are called by my name,
will humble themselves and pray
and seek my face
and turn from their wicked ways,
then I will hear from heaven,
and I will forgive their sin
and will heal their land.
Now my eyes will be open
and my ears attentive
to the prayers offered in this place.
I have chosen and consecrated this temple
so that my Name may be there forever.
2Chronicles 7:14-16

THE QUEEN OF SHEBA MEETS SOLOMON
THE QUEEN RAVES OVER SOLOMON'S WISDOM
THE QUEEN IS OVERWHELMED BY THE KING OF ISRAEL
When the queen of Sheba heard of Solomon’s fame,
she came to Jerusalem to test him
with hard questions.
Arriving with a very great caravan—
with camels carrying spices,
large quantities of gold, and precious stones—
she came to Solomon and talked with him
about all she had on her mind.
Solomon answered all her questions;
nothing was too hard for him to explain to her.
When the queen of Sheba saw the wisdom of Solomon,
as well as the palace he had built,
the food on his table,
the seating of his officials,
the attending servants in their robes,
the cupbearers in their robes
and the burnt offerings he made
at the temple of the Lord,
she was overwhelmed.
She said to the king,

“The report I heard in my own country
about your achievements and your wisdom is true.
But I did not believe what they said
until I came and saw with my own eyes.
Indeed, not even half the greatness of your wisdom
was told me;
you have far exceeded the report I heard.
How happy your people must be!
How happy your officials,
who continually stand before you
and hear your wisdom!
Praise be to the Lord your God,
who has delighted in you
and placed you on his throne as king
to rule for the Lord your God.
Because of the love of your God for Israel
and his desire to uphold them forever,
he has made you king over them,
to maintain justice and righteousness.”
Then she gave the king 120 talents of gold,
large quantities of spices, and precious stones.
There had never been such spices
as those the queen of Sheba gave to King Solomon.
